Grant Awarded to Charm City Companions!

Spay Neuter Grant Awarded! The State of Maryland’s Department of Agriculture recently awarded Charm City Companions with a fourth spay neuter grant funding 400 surgeries in 2018. The Maryland’s Spay and Neuter Grants Program is an exciting program designed to reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs euthanized in shelters across the state. The state hopes to reduce these numbers by providing competitive grants to local governments and animal welfare organizations that promote and provide spay and neuter services and educational outreach, emphasizing efforts that serve low income communities and populations.

Charm City Companions ( 501c3, non-profit) is a community outreach initiative, modeled after The HSUS Pets for Life community outreach program reaching under-served communities across the country, which was co-developed by illume communications’ Annie Pruitt, co-founder of CCC. Charm City Companions’ goal is to extend the reach of animal welfare services, resources, and information to under-served communities in Baltimore City.
